3. Arkansas Martin Luther King, Jr. Commission’s “Operation Appreciation” Food Giveaway to Feed Hundreds During National Conference Week
Little Rock, AR – As part of the National MLK Commissions Conference, the Arkansas Martin Luther King, Jr. Commission will host the “Operation Appreciation” Food Giveaway on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, at the Commission headquarters, 906 Broadway, Little Rock, Arkansas.
This giveaway will serve hundreds of families in need by providing free food on a first-come, first-served basis, continuing a strong tradition of community service and compassion. The most recent giveaway in May 2025 served over 8,000 pounds of food.
“In honoring Dr. King, we honor the hungry, the underserved, and those in need,” said Executive Director Dr. DuShun Scarbrough. “This event embodies Operation Appreciation and reminds us all to serve those who serve our communities.”
The giveaway is supported by community partners including Tyson, Entergy, Bond.AI, Welspun, and the Arkansas Minority Health Commission.
