1. “LRSD Educational Culture Should Focus on Continuous Improvement,” by Michael D. Mason
As a student who attended schools in the Little Rock School District [LRSD], graduating from Central High in 1976, as a father whose four children graduated from Little Rock public schools and all have college degrees, AND as a past president of the Little Rock School Board, I can view the accomplishments of the district, as well as its problems, from a unique perspective.
What will it take for the Little Rock School District to sustain measurable improvement? What will it take to continue equipping our students with the skills to improve standardized test scores? How can LRSD better prepare our students for life after public school to become productive citizens? I wish to express my opinion on what it will take to sustain continuous improvement in the Little Rock School District.

6. Who’s Ready to Run for Political Office in 2026?
Want to run for political office?
The Arkansas Democratic Black Caucus will host a Political Fundraising 101 candidate workshop on Sunday, July 20 from 2-4 p.m. at Station 801 Event Center, 801 South Chester in Little Rock.
The free training is presented by GoodChange and is open to anyone who is interested in running for a local, state, or federal office in the 2026 election cycle.
We will discuss different types of political fundraising in this workshop and the importance of creating a finance committee. We will also discuss how to make that difficult ask for a donation and organize call time.
Attendees must register and lunch will be provided.
