6. The Central Arkansas Library System & North Little Rock Public Library System Host Rock, Paper, Run 5K

The Central Arkansas Library System and the North Little Rock Public Library System have partnered to create the Rock, Paper, Run 5K fun run/walk to celebrate Library Card Sign-up Month. This 5K will link the two library systems beginning in North Little Rock leaving the William F. Laman Library and ending at the CALS Main Library. Participants and spectators are encouraged to dress up as their favorite book characters.

This family fun run/walk will take place Saturday, September 9, at 8:30 a.m. for lineup; race begins at 9:15 a.m. Registration is $25 for adults, $15 for children ages 4-12, and free for children ages 3 and under. Following the race, a Library Card Sign-up Cool Down Party will take place on the grounds of Main Library from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Cool Down is free and open to the public.
