2. Central Arkansas Sphinx Foundation Announces Micro-Grants to Support Community and Backyard Agriculture in Pulaski County, Arkansas

Little Rock, Arkansas (June 25, 2025) – The Central Arkansas Sphinx Foundation (CASF), in partnership with To Improve Mississippi Economics, Inc. (T.I.M.E.), announces the launch of a new micro-grant program designed to expand food access by funding community and backyard agriculture projects in Pulaski County.

Grants ranging from $4,000 to $8,000 are available to eligible individuals, churches, schools, nonprofits, and small-scale farmers. The funding supports efforts to grow food locally, increase production, and create sustainable solutions to food insecurity.

Applications are due by Tuesday, July 22, 2025 at 5:00 p.m. Details and application materials are available at www.CASFgrants.org.

An informational workshop will be held on Tuesday, July 8, 2025 from 5:30–7:30 p.m. at Philander Smith University in the Elders Auditorium, Nugent Center (900 W. Daisy L. Gatson Bates Drive, Little Rock, AR). Attendees will learn how to apply and explore available USDA support. Registration is encouraged at www.CASFgrants.org, though walk-ins are welcome.

Little Rock, AR – June 12, 2025 – Tommy Branch Jr., a devoted advocate for at-risk youth and faith-driven community development, has officially announced his candidacy for the position of Pulaski County Justice of the Peace, District 5 in the March 3, 2026 election.

With over two decades of service to Pulaski County, Branch’s career has been defined by a commitment to public service, most notably through his work with the AR Department of Human Services (OHS) Youth Services Division. Over the years, he has played an important role in supporting vulnerable youth, helping them successfully navigate the juvenile justice system, access educational opportunities, and achieve stability through mentoring and rehabilitation programs.
