LITTLE ROCK, AR (February 11, 2026) — On Tuesday, February 17 at 10:00 a.m., the Arkansas Commission commemorating the nation’s 250th birthday will officially unveil new signage recognizing the Daisy Bates House as one of the 11 most significant locations in Arkansas over the past 250 years.
The public is invited to attend the outdoor program on the front lawn of the historic home at 1207 W. 28th Street in Little Rock.
This designation honors the enduring legacy of civil rights leader Daisy Gatson Bates and the pivotal role her home played during the Little Rock Central High School integration crisis. The unveiling represents a historic milestone in preserving Arkansas history and recognizing sites that have shaped both the state and the nation.
Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders will serve as the featured speaker for the ceremony.
