Little Rock, Arkansas, November 19, 2021 – The Runwayz Fashion Party invites
everyday trendsetters to walk the runway wearing the hottest pieces they’ve longed to
bring out of the closet. Debuting in Arkansas on November 19 at 7:00 p.m., this unique
fashion-show-themed party will fill the Robinson Center Grand Ballroom with trendy music
and the unique personal styles from closets across the region.

This affair stands out among fashion show events as the only occasion for general
admission advance ticket purchasers to choose to walk the runway. Runway categories
carry playful names, like “Revenge of the Nerd,” “Gold Rush,” and “Party People.” Fun
prizes go to the best in each category.

Starting before the show, The Runwayz will host a Fashion Donation Drive at the
Robinson Center, inviting people to donate coats, jackets, and fashions of all sizes in
good or excellent condition between the hours of 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
One week before Black Friday and the holiday season of shopping and giving, enjoy
music and dance at its finest, all centered on the fashion, style, and swagger of the city’s
trendiest crowd. The Runwayz asks Central Arkansas, What’s in Your Closet?
On November 19th, step into the spotlight at The Runwayz Fashion Party at the Robinson
Center in downtown Little Rock.

5. [Virtual Book Talk] Rev. Dr. Allan Boesak author of Selfless Revolutionaries Biko, Black Consciousness, Black Theology, and a Global Ethic of Solidarity and Resistance Guest Moderated by Rev. Judge Wendell Griffen – Hosted by Pyramid Art, Books, and Custom Framing

Saturday, November 20, 2021 @11:00am
Guest moderated by Rev. Judge Wendell Griffen
At this historic moment of global revolutions for social justice inspired by the Black Lives Matter movement, the philosophy of Black Consciousness has reemerged and gripped the imagination of a new generation, and of the merciless exposure by COVD-19 of the devastating, long-existent fault lines in our societies. Frantz Fanon, James Baldwin, and Steve Biko have been rediscovered and reclaimed. In this powerful book Black liberation theologian and activist ALLAN BOESAK explores the deep connections between Black Consciousness, Black theology, and the struggles against racism, domination, and imperial brutality across the world today.

6. Celebrity Chef Gina Neely Presents Book Signing @Pyramid Art, Books, and Custom Framing

Book Signing with GINA NEELY author of This is My Life, and These are My Rules
Saturday, November 20, 2021 @2:00pm IN PERSON EVENT!

Being a celebrity chef was never Gina Neely’s plan. The success of the show Down Home with the Neelys was never her dream. But she did it for her husband. In doing so, Neely realized something: “I found myself kind of trying to dim my light to make his light shine. And that is never a good thing.” Neely knew that, if she wanted to be her best self, she would have to come out of the relationship — a step that took an enormous amount of courage. And in the hope to help others find their true happiness, she has authored the self-help book This Is My Life, and These are My Rules ($24.95).

Drop by Pyramid (1001 Wright Ave, Little Rock, AR 72206) to meet Gina and get your copy signed! Can’t make it? Call us at 501-372-5824 to reserve your copy!

Autographed books make great gifts!

The Women’s Foundation of Arkansas is proud to launch the second annual 2022 Tjuana Byrd Summer Internship Program, named after the Foundation’s first Black president, through our Girls of Promise® initiative.

In partnership with several companies located in Arkansas, we will be offering a 10-week summer internship program for women of color attending college in Arkansas and pursuing degrees in Science, Technology, Engineering, & Mathematics (finance & related majors included). Below is a list of our internship partners and sponsors:

The internship program is intentionally designed to increase access to and representation in these fields for women of color in our state by eliminating barriers of cost, social capital, and location.

The 10-week internship program will run from approximately May 23, 2022 – July 29, 2022.

Applications are now open! Please submit the application with a copy of the student’s resume, unofficial transcript, and two letters of recommendations by January 14, 2022.
