LITTLE ROCK, AR Director Ken Richardson on the Road to Recovery Little Rock, AR –
Over the last few months, the absence of Director Ken Richardson from the City Board of Directors’ regularly scheduled meetings has raised questions among the constituents of Ward 2 and the city of Little Rock at large.
After speaking with the Richardson family, Mayor Frank Scott Jr. shared that over the past few months, Director Richardson has undergone multiple life-threatening surgeries and is currently still hospitalized. He must clear significant hurdles in his recovery before he can return to his duties and continue serving the city he loves.
Director Richardson has a message for the constituents of Ward 2: “I have not abandoned you. I look forward to resuming the work I have previously done and completing the projects we started together.”
While Director Richardson remains hospitalized, he is on a long road to a full recovery. The Richardson family expresses their gratitude and thankfulness for how far he has come and asks that the community keep Director Richardson in their prayers and respect their privacy during this challenging time.
Director Ken Richardson’s dedication to the city of Little Rock and his commitment to his constituents remains steadfast. We all look forward to his full recovery and return to public service.

The Soul of Philanthropy multimedia exhibition opens at Mosaic Templars Cultural Center during Black Philanthropy Month
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (August 1, 2024) — Following exhibitions in dozens of communities nationwide, “Giving Back: The Soul of Philanthropy Reframed and Exhibited” is making its way to the Mosaic Templars Cultural Center for a three-month run. The comprehensive, multimedia exhibit opens to the public with a ribbon-cutting and tasting event on Thursday, Aug. 22, at 5:30 p.m.
The Soul of Philanthropy, a reimagining of the book Giving Back, explores the Black American experience with philanthropy and elevates giving traditions grounded in faith, mutuality, responsibility and social justice. The groundbreaking exhibit, comprising narrative and photographic works from Valaida Fullwood and Charles W. Thomas, invites visitors of all ages to share their stories of giving and to contribute to “reframing portraits of philanthropy.”
