1. Pyramid Art, Books, and Custom Framing Welcomes The Reader Family At A Special In-Store Event

Maya and James Reader both love a good book and have shared their passion for reading with their children. They read to their children in utero and as babies. When they were old enough, Maya and James encouraged the Reader 5 to select their own titles on library and bookstore visits!

Maya and James credit their family’s shared loved for reading for their children’s great vocabularies and excellent writing and communication skills. They want to share the benefits of reading as a family with your family!

2. Arkansas Black Hall of Fame Foundation Announces $50,000 in Grants to Support Arkansas Communities


3. The Black History Commission of Arkansas Hosts “African Americans and Religion in Arkansas” Symposium featuring Dr. Logan Hampton, Rev. Edna Mack-Pettigrew, and Walter Washington

The Black History Commission of Arkansas will host its next symposium Saturday, June 4 from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The theme will be “African Americans and Religion in Arkansas.”

Featured speakers include:

– Dr. Logan Hampton, President of Lane College “Faith of our Fore Parents”

– Commissioner Walter Washington – “Religion from a Millennial’s Perspective”

– Rev. Edna Mack-Pettigrew, Associate Minister, Bethel A.M.E. Church “I Am A Woman, I Am A Minister”

It will be held at the Mosaic Templars Cultural Center, located at 501 W. 9th Street in downtown Little Rock. Light refreshments will be served.
