Today’s Communiqué – 4.25.25

1. Celebrate MLK Arkansas Youth Community Service Month – Join Us in Empowering Students to Serve!

Dear Friends and Supporters of Youth Service,

The Arkansas Martin Luther King, Jr. Commission (AMLKC), a division of the Arkansas Department of Education, invites your school district to participate in MLK Arkansas Youth Community Service Month, observed from April 11 through May 11, 2025, in alignment with Global Youth Service Day (April 25–27, 2025).

We are mobilizing students, ages 5–25, across Arkansas to commit to meaningful Awareness, Service, Advocacy, and Philanthropy (ASAP) projects that meet real community needs.

This statewide effort empowers youth to make a difference through:

·        Community clean-ups

·        Food drives and pantry support

·        Literacy and mentoring activities

·        Youth-led civic and social impact projects

We ask you to encourage your students, student groups, and classrooms to pledge their acts of service using our official AMLKC service clearinghouse platform at:
